Valkyria Chronicles Screens and Video for Character Largo Potter

Some new screens have been released for Sega’s new RPG for the PS3 Valkyria Chronicles. The screens show a new character named Largo Potter who is the big guy in all the shots. You can see him interacting with the previously released character Brigitte “Rosie” Stark. From the video it looks like he is some sort of heavy weapons solder and able to take down tanks.

Obsidian (famous for Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II and Neverwinter Nights 2) and Sega announced they are teaming up to deliver a modern day espionage RPG titled Alpha Protocol. The story follows a character named Michael Thorton who for one reason or another is scuttled from the government agency he works for. Too bad for us, he’s the only person with knowledge of how to stop an impending global catastrophe! Players will apparently follow some sort of paragon/renegade model similar to Mass Effect where they make decisions that have some level of consequence on Michael Thorton’s character which ultimately affects the story.
Alpha Protocol is slated for release in 2009 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out the official press release below.
Add First CommentDisgaea 3 for the PS3 Confirmed for August North America Release

NIS America anounced today that it will be releasing Disgaea 3 for the PS3 in August in the states. The game was released last month in Japan and got good reviews. The gameplay is very similar to the first 2 games, but with updated graphics and a new Geo Block feature which allows you to change the battlefield landscape to access hard to reach spots. Any fan of strategy role-playing games should check out this game and the first 2 original games. Check out the Japanese screens below to see the new features, characters and graphics.
1 CommentSega’s Valkyria Chronicles SRPG Comes to PS3 this Fall

OK tactical rpg fans, prepare yourself for a maximum excitement over Sega’s announcement of Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3. The game is getting much love over it’s cel-shading-like style that Sega’s much touted CANVAS engine provides, not to mention it’s a strategy rpg (with a gameplay twist?) and who doesn’t love those? As a staunch fan of SRPGs, I’m interested in seeing more of the gameplay (check out the video below to see what I’m talking about). I really like how you get a map view of your units after each character’s turn. Sega will be making Valkyria Chronicals available to PS3 owners this Fall, so we should be seeing more screens and videos soon. View full post to read the press release and watch the video trailer.
Add First CommentFallout 3 has Smaller World and More Voice Actors than Oblivion

Gameplayer.com.au dropped some questions to Pete Hines from Bethesda about their upcoming game Fallout 3. Pete mentions that the Fallout 3 world will likely end up being 50% - 80% of the size of the Oblivion’s. Although Bethesda did do a pretty good job populating the land of Oblivion, I felt like the size of the world was a little larger than it needed to be. If Fallout 3 offers up content inline with what Oblivion had in a more compact world, I think that would be a good thing. Also, Bethesda seems to be addressing another complaint of Oblivion players by peppering the game with more voice talent. Pete mentions Fallout 3 will have 2 to 3 times the amount of voice actors compared to Oblivion which is a welcome addition to the game. That’s great and all, but I feel like they could do better.
This is a good read for anybody that is interested in Fallout 3, so if you count yourself among those, check this out. Pete covers a lot of topics regarding its story and the differences between it game 1 and 2.

Add First CommentTwo New Great Disgaea 3 Gameplay Videos

I have said it before, and I will say it again, the more I see videos of Disgaea 3 for the PS3 the more I can’t wait to get it this game. The first new video posted is of gameplay in a classroom. In the video preview you can see Prinnies attacking, but doing very little damage in a cute school room level. The second trailer is a combo gameplay video. This shows what looks like geospheres damaging enemies and racking up a large chain bonus, then a combo attach to finish the last remaining enemy. The graphics in general look pretty good, but I was hoping to see a little more of an update to graphical quality of the levels. Overall though, this game looks great! If is as fun and complex as the first two games, then we’ll have absolutely nothing to worry about. View the full post to watch the two new videos plus the extended Japanese trailer.
Add First CommentDisgaea 3 Video Prologue

I do not know about anyone else, but when I see new information about a Disgaea game I can’t wait for it to be released. Disgaea 3 was released in Japan a few weeks ago and the new video shows all the characters and many of the new locations of the game. I can not wait for this game. Disgaea and Disgaea 2 were in my Playstation for months and this looks like it may even be better than the first 2 games. I hope that NIS America releases the game in the states as soon as possible. 1 Comment26 Final Fantasy XIII Scans from Famitsu

FinalFantasy-XIII.net has posted some images of Final Fantasy XIII from Famitsu. Most of these images have been posted before in some form or another, but these images are much larger and without text over the images. There are some very detailed images of Lightning who is the female seen on most of the previous images. Also posted are some moody images of the other characters and environments.
1 CommentDisgaea 3 Videos

For anyone who is a fan of Disgaea by NIS there have been some new gameplay videos posted from the Japanese release and the game looks like it is going to be as great as the others. If you have not played any of the Disgaea games so far, you should go out and buy them as quickly as possible. You can still buy Disgaea 1 at the RosenQueen store and you can find Disgaea 2 on Ebay for a reasonable price. Click the read more link below to view two of the new Disgaea videos.
