New Character Screens and Info for Atlus’ RPG Baroque

blogimg_baroque02.jpg

Atlus has released a slew of new images for their upcoming RPG Baroque. These new images give information about some characters of the game and their roll. These are very interesting in that a lot of the characters appear to be tortured souls. The character designs are also very creative and a little disturbing with limbs being replaced with what looks like tree limbs and body parts attached to the wrong part of the body. This game is coming out on the 8th of next month for the Wii and PS2 and it is looking more interesting with every image I see. I have read it is a very demanding game though and requires a lot of patience.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King Video and Info

ffccwiiware.jpg

Aww look at the cute moogles. Currently scheduled for Japanese release on March 25th, 2008, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King will be available on Nintendo’s service WiiWare for 1500 WiiPoints. From the videos it looks to be a game about city and nation building with a lot of dialog and not much battling. Sources confirm this. Though unconfirmed, it will most likely receive an E rating and be severely lacking in mature content. So don’t expect to see a hot furry moogle decadently laid out in lingerie for your insatiable desires. But hey, you can’t please everyone.

Baroque Screens for the PS2 and Wii RPG from Atlus

blogimg_baroque.jpg

Here are some new screens for the upcoming Atlus RPG Baroque. The game is going to be released later this month, so I thought I would post some screens. These screens show different stills from the cinematic parts of the game that look very dark and moody, though to me the environments seem pretty simple and a little bland. Hopefully the gameplay and animations will help bring the game to life, and from what I have read and seen that just might be the case.

Namco Bandai Confirms Two Tales Games for Xbox 360 and Wii

Tales of Vesperia Header

Namco Bandai officially announced that Tales of Vesperia will be released for the Xbox 360 and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World will be released for the Wii. Both titles in the Tales Series will be available by the end of 2008.

Obviously anytime RPG titles are announced for the Xbox 360 and Wii, it’s hard not to be excited. It seems like fans of the Tales series will appreciate the graphic engine upgrades that are being made to Tales of Vesperia along with some tweaking to the real-time battle system. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World’s story takes place two years after the Game Cube’s Tales of Symphonia, the sequel focuses on new characters, but the story will bring them across characters from the original cast.

Drone Tactics and Baroque Release Dates Bumped

blogimg_baroque02.jpg

Sorry Atlus faithful. It looks like the release date for Drone Tactics has been moved to May 13th and Baroque has been bumped back for a few weeks to April 8th. It’s a slight delay to the freaking wave of Atlus titles that we’ll be drowning in come April. For example; Spectral Force followed by Baroque, Rondo of Swords, Persona 3 FES, R-Type Command, and Drone Tactics will be rolling our way, with one being released nearly every week and that’s just Atlus releases. It’s been a slow first quarter for RPGs and video games in general, but that’s going to change soon enough. Check out the upcoming releases.

For everyone still uncertain about whether or not to get Phantasy Star II on the Wii Shop Channel a new gameplay video has been released. The video show the characters walking around the first town and ending with them in a battle. The battle system is pretty straight forward compared to current games obviously, but there is still a lot of fun to be had with this game. Check out the complete post to watch the video.

Phantasy Star II Released on Wii Shop Channel

blogimg_phantasystar2.jpg

The classic RPG Phantasy Star II has been released on the Wii Shop Channel for 800 Wii Points. This game was originally released for the Sega Genesis in 1989 and is considered a classic. The game lets you play as several characters and customize your armor and weapons to battle the Dark Force. Also, there is a lot of dungeon exploring in the game that can be a little confusing. I remember playing this on the Sega Genesis and it was a lot of fun for the time. I am not sure if it will hold up well after all of this time, but if you are an RPG fan I would recommend checking it out. Three New Trailers for Atlus’ Upcoming RPG Baroque

blogimg_baroque02.jpg

Three new Japanese trailers have been released for Baroque, the upcoming RPG for PlayStation 2 and the Wii. Visually the art style looks very dark with great character design. The monsters you fight throughout the game really look great, though overall the game seems a little grey with not a very rich color palette. This may be attributed to the game originally being released on the Sega Saturn back in 1998, but it also adds to the overall feeling of melancholy throughout the game. One aspect of the game that intrigues me though is the fact that in order to progress the story line your character will have to die. Atlus has been releasing a lot of great games lately so hopefully this is another to add to their catalog. The game is to be released on March 18th. View the full post to watch the 3 new trailers.
