New videos have been posted for Square Enix RPG The World Ends With You for the DS. The videos show the game in action with battle footage. The game play is extremely stylized, and fast paced with action taking place on the top and bottom screens. Apparently battles take place on two planes of existence and you attack with Neku on the bottom screen and send you Puck, or attack energy, to your partner on the top screen. It seems like a pretty interesting battle system. I am looking forward to trying out for myself. View the full post to watch the two new videos.

Square Enix has just announced the release date of June 24, 2008 for the Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift North America. The game takes place in the world of Ivalice and old characters will be appearing including Vaan, Penelo and Al-Cid. The game will also have new content including classes, jobs and a new clan system. The game will have over 400 different quests also so there should be plenty to keep you busy. We’ll keep you posted on any other news we come across.

Summon Night: Twin Age has just been announced for the Nintendo DS by Atlus. The game is set to be released on May 20 of this year. The game will have two playable characters and by playing as the different characters you will be able to view the story from two different perspectives. You will also be able to trade items via local wireless network. I am very impressed with the screenshots below. I love the ornate details in the environments and the great character sprites. This will definitely be a game to keep and eye on. Atlus has also mentioned another announcement for next week so we will keep you posted on any details.

Square Enix has just released some new screens for the DS RPG The World Ends With You. The screens look action packed with a lot visually going on. I really like the design direction and the high contrast art style of the game. It looks a lot different than other games out there. Take a look for yourself with the screens below.

Here are some new screens for the Nintendo DS RPG Rondo of Swords by Atlus. The game takes place on the continent of Bravord in the Kingdom of Bretwalde. During a funeral for their fallen King they are attacked by the neighboring kingdom of Grand Meir. The knights of Bretwalde fall to the army of Grand Meir, except for a small faction that escape led but Serdic. Serdic carries a secret that can turn the tide of the war. Check out the screens below to see some shots of game play and unit magagement.

Forever Fantasy has some information about a new Valkyrie Profile game in development by Tri-Ace which they have titled Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One. One interesting detail about this new game is that the graphics appear not to be in 2D. There are only two screens available at this time so parts of the game may be in the 2D view. Also, they mention that in the game you play as a male character who of course is not a valkyrie. This would be great to see another Valkyrie Profile game released. The original, which was later ported to the PSP, and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria are both great games and would be great to see the series continue.

Atlus has released some new screens for the upcoming RPG Rondo of Swords for the Nintendo DS. From what I have seen so far I have not been that impressed with the visuals of the game, but I also know with games like this it is less about the graphics and more about the game play. Hopefully the battle system where you can hit all enemies in your path and the party management system where you can divide your party to go on separate quests work well and make this game another great Atlus RPG.

To celebrate the North American launch of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates for the DS, check out this awesome game play video of characters flipping switches in game, it’s divine. The graphics look really good for the DS in my opinion, so I’m sure Final Fantasy fans and especially fans of the action rpgs will want to give this a look-see.

We have great news for all you tactics fans out there. According to Game Informer Magazine, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: The Sealed Grimoire is being released in North America sometime this summer. This game contains more job classes, larger enemies and a more in-depth world map with more battles than the earlier games. Check out the screens below to see how the game is shaping up.

Square Enix just launched the official North American site for the new DS RPG The World Ends with You. There is not much to the site at the moment, just a countdown, some scrolling screens on the DS and a rap song that plays in the background. This is a game I am going to be keeping an eye on. It is great to see a creative RPG coming out that takes a different approach to combat and subject matter.
